TOP GOLF 09!
Forget the Lions tour to South Africa, forget the Ashes - Top Golf in Chigwell was the top sporting event of the summer. Our annual golfing evening on 7 July saw colleagues battling it out in a flurry of frantic swinging on the green astro of the driving range.
The event involved hitting micro-chipped balls from first floor driving range bays, and attempting (mostly unsuccessfully) to land them in various targets to score points. As the irons pummelled the mats and the drivers dented the side walls it was clear that the average employee was a long way from becoming the next Tiger Woods.
There was, however, an odd performance which was worthy of note (or maybe he passed over a few notes to someone), as Pete came in top spot with the highest combined score of the evening. Meanwhile Jon and Simon finished mid-table with a combination of hooks, slices and the odd ball striking the ceiling!
The evening was a great success and fully enjoyed by all, with the combination of beers and burgers between shots to help keep spirits high!
