Most recently Ardent has supported Transport for London to promote its Bank Station Capacity Upgrade project and Northern Line Extension Project, Network Railway to promote its East West Rail Phase 1 project and West Yorkshire Combine Authority (WYCA) to promote the Leeds Second Station Entrance project. Ardent has also been instructed by Network Rail on their East Coast Mainline Level Crossing Closure Programme and more recently on their Anglia network.
Since the Planning Act 2008 came into force, nationally significant railway schemes are delivered through a Development Consent Order (DCO) process (where they are not considered suitable for a Hybrid Bill process). Ardent has led the way in promoting the first ever successful Development Consent Order (consent granted in 2011) and is currently applying this experience to a number of other nationally significant and high profile schemes throughout the UK.
