Ardent have been instructed by Thurrock Power Limited (a subsidiary of Statera Energy Limited) to carry out full land referencing services for their Thurrock Flexible Generation Park Project. This is Ardent’s 42nd DCO involvement!

The client is proposing to build and operate a flexible generation and battery storage power plant, in East Thurrock, Essex. The proposed development will provide up to 600 megawatts of electrical generation capacity on a fast response basis when called for by the National Grid, together with up to 150 megawatts of battery storage capacity.

As the generating capacity of the proposed development exceeds 50 megawatts, it falls within the definition of a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project for which an application for Development Consent Order (DCO) is required under the Planning Act 2008 (the Act). Pete Gibbard is leading the project team with assistance from Nick Dexter, Antonia Pagonis, Laura Crumpton and Jack Bramley. Timescales are challenging and the team is working hard to deliver the usual high standards on schedule.
