We are pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Young as Head of Transport, further strengthening Ardent’s growing transport division.
Based in Birmingham, Craig joins Ardent with more than 20 years’ experience across the transport and infrastructure sectors, including 15 years leading business growth, strategic development and operational performance within the rail industry.
His appointment supports our continued expansion across the transport sector and strengthens our ability to support clients delivering increasingly complex infrastructure projects in highly regulated and safety-critical environments.
Throughout his career, Craig has held senior leadership positions across major consultancies, helping organisations navigate complex regulatory frameworks, strengthen their market presence and deliver sustainable growth. Most recently, he held a growth leadership role at WSP.
Craig brings extensive expertise in business development, strategic planning, and marketing and communications, alongside a strong understanding of the commercial and operational challenges facing organisations working across transport and infrastructure.
His appointment reflects our ongoing investment in transport as we continue to support clients delivering nationally significant infrastructure, transport and regeneration projects across the UK.
Commenting on his appointment, Craig said:
“This is a really exciting time to join Ardent. What attracted me to the business was its ambition, growth trajectory and clear vision for the future.
“I’ve spent much of my career helping businesses grow within complex and heavily regulated sectors, particularly across rail and transport. Ardent’s combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurial thinking and involvement in major infrastructure projects made it a natural next step for me.
“Having worked within both global consultancies and smaller, high-growth organisations, I understand the opportunities and challenges that come with scaling a business. There is a real energy within Ardent and I’m looking forward to working with the team to strengthen our transport offering, support our clients and help drive the next phase of growth.”
Jon Stott, Group Managing Director at Ardent, said:
“Craig’s appointment is a significant addition to our leadership team and reflects our long-term ambitions for growth across the transport sector.
“He brings extensive experience across rail, infrastructure and business leadership, alongside a strong understanding of the challenges facing clients delivering major projects in increasingly complex regulatory and stakeholder environments.
“As investment continues across the UK’s transport network, clients need partners who can combine technical expertise with strategic insight and commercial understanding. Craig’s experience and leadership will play an important role as we continue expanding our transport capabilities and supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across the country.”
At Ardent, we support infrastructure, transport, regeneration, energy and development projects across the UK, providing specialist land, stakeholder engagement and consents services to clients in both the public and private sectors.
