Ardent is delighted to announce that Rob Quaile, Director in our Development Consultancy team, has been appointed incoming Vice Chair of the Compulsory Purchase Association (CPA) for 2026/27. Following his term as Vice Chair, Rob will go on to serve as Chair of the Association for 2027/28.

The appointment is a significant milestone in Rob’s career and reflects his longstanding contribution to the compulsory purchase profession. It also continues Ardent’s proud legacy, and commitment to the CPA and its role in industry.

The CPA is the leading professional body for compulsory purchase and compensation practitioners, bringing together experts from across the public and private sectors to promote best practice, support professional development and help shape the future of the profession.

As Vice Chair, Rob will work alongside the CPA’s Board to support the Association’s strategic priorities, represent its members and help guide its ongoing development. In 2027/28, he will take on the role of Chair, leading the Association as it continues to support professionals working across compulsory purchase, compensation and land assembly.

Rob said:

“I am honoured to have been appointed as incoming Vice Chair of the Compulsory Purchase Association and to have the opportunity to serve as Chair in 2027/28.

“The CPA has an important role to play in strengthening the profession, bringing together different perspectives and helping to raise standards across compulsory purchase and land assembly. At a time when the UK needs to deliver major infrastructure, housing and regeneration projects with both pace and care, that shared expertise and leadership is more important than ever.

“I am looking forward to working with colleagues from across the profession, learning from their experience and helping the CPA continue to provide a strong, constructive voice for the industry and the communities affected by the work we do.”

John Sayer, Head of Development Consultancy, and former CPA Chair, said:

“Congratulations to Rob on this well-deserved appointment. Having served as Chair of the CPA, I know first-hand the important role the Association plays in supporting the profession and influencing the future of compulsory purchase.

“I have no doubt Rob will make an outstanding Vice Chair before going on to lead the Association as Chair, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have.”

Rob’s appointment reflects the depth of expertise within Ardent and our continued commitment to supporting the wider profession through leadership, collaboration and the sharing of knowledge. We congratulate Rob on this achievement and wish him every success as he begins his term as Vice Chair.
